Blue Ocean Partners Helps Feed Bodies and Minds

baltimore-hunger-project

Our Blue Ocean team was happy to partner with Baltimore Hunger Project (BHP), an organization that is dedicated to eliminating the growing problem of weekend childhood hunger by providing food packages to children who are identified as food insecure, in a compassionate and dignified manner. We are very thankful to have this incredible organization eliminating the growing problem of weekend childhood hunger by feeding the bodies and minds of children in our local community.

BHP currently provides over 450 meals to children across fifteen Baltimore City and Baltimore County schools by working with guidance counselors to discreetly tuck food packages into children’s backpacks on Friday afternoons. This way, they can return to school on Monday nourished and ready to learn!

Blue Ocean team members volunteered their time to pack non-perishable food items into individual packages. Over the course of two hours, thirteen employees (pictured above) put together 450 bags, which were delivered to local schools on the same day! Additionally, Blue Ocean made a generous donation to Baltimore Hunger Project to further help the organization continue to make meaningful differences in the lives of children within our community.

Baltimore Hunger Project is continuously raising awareness about the effects of hunger by establishing beneficial partnerships with community members and other admirable organizations. By offering educational resources to children and families in need, they are supporting lasting food security with the ultimate goal to break the cycle of poverty. Visit their website today to learn more about how you can make a difference!

We couldn’t be more grateful to support such an incredible local organization. Together, we can eliminate childhood hunger. Here’s to yet another successful “giving back” day for our Blue Ocean team!
