On Thursday, April 11th, some of our Blue Ocean team members enjoyed a successful community partnership event at GEDCO (Govans Ecumenical Development Corporation). This incredible organization’s mission is to provide affordable housing, supportive services, and emergency assistance to community residents. GEDCO believes that Baltimore’s older adults, regardless of their incomes, should have access to the highest quality of housing with supportive services. They accomplish this through their housing communities of Gallagher Mansion and Stadium Place, and additionally through their activity centers of Harford Senior Center and the Senior Network of North Baltimore.
Several members of our Blue Ocean team worked with the Senior Services Department in hosting this fantastic Seniors “Funday”. The day was filled with bingo, dancing, raffles, prizes, and more. The event was quite inspiring, and we were pleased to make a donation to the organization to help further their efforts in our community. GEDCO is one of Baltimore’s most creative and effective nonprofit organizations, dedicated to providing affordable, supportive housing and emergency services that meet low-income individuals’ and families’ most basic needs for food and shelter.
