Blue Ocean’s community service arm, BlueCares, was honored to sponsor the Casey Cares Foundation’s 13th Annual 5k Run and 1-Mile Walk at the Maryland Zoo on Saturday, August 6, 2022, in Baltimore, Maryland. Our support of the non-profit organization’s dedication to providing uplifting programs for critically ill children and their families helped to raise over $45,000. Casey Cares provides experiences for kids who must make every day count.

Casey Baynes, a longtime philanthropist who worked with several charitable organizations, created the Casey Cares Foundation in 2000 with a handful of families who wanted to help her make a difference. After overcoming personal and business obstacles in her life, Casey was driven to follow her heart and wanted to lessen the stress on parents of children battling cancer, sickle cell disease, cystic fibrosis, and other life-threatening illnesses. Headquartered in Baltimore, the not-for-profit works with families in seven states across the Mid-Atlantic, parts of the Midwest, and Washington, DC.
