On September 17, TRELLIS University Hill celebrated an important milestone: its first resident community event.

Residents came together for an evening of food, games, conversation and an opportunity to get to know their new neighbors. For a growing residential community, these early connections are an important part of turning a new development into a place that truly feels like home.

One of the highlights of the evening was a rock-painting activity centered around TRELLIS University Hill’s new Little Free Library and outdoor seating area. Residents were encouraged to paint a rock with their name, artwork or a positive message and leave it in the surrounding garden.

The activity was designed to create something lasting. As some of the first residents of TRELLIS University Hill, those who participated are helping establish the community from its very beginning. Additional rocks and painting supplies were left by the library so residents who were unable to attend can add their own contribution.

Over time, the hope is that the collection of painted rocks will grow alongside the community—creating a colorful reminder of the people who were here at the beginning and helped shape the culture of TRELLIS University Hill.
