Blue Ocean’s community service arm, BlueCares, recently partnered with World Central Kitchen to help the organization provide meals to those in need. The World Central Kitchen is currently working tirelessly, serving nearly 300,000 meals, daily, to refugees of war-torn Ukraine and its neighboring countries of Romania, Moldova, and Hungary.
World Central Kitchen has served over 70 million meals since it was founded in 2010. Believing that “Food is a Universal Right,” the nonprofit organization works across the globe to aid countries and communities in crisis, including humanitarian needs that are currently facing Ukraine.
World Central Kitchen not only provides meals for those in need, but they also have invested in a Food Producer Network, relying on locally led solutions and resources to create resilience. The organization hires locally within the affected communities and advocates for better nutrition and basic kitchen necessities such as clean cookstoves in every kitchen.
Blue Ocean sponsored meals as part of a monthly effort focused on community engagement and philanthropy. The team was honored to support this mission and grateful to see the progress World Central Kitchen has made in addressing the needs of those in dire need of care and support.
