Blue Ocean is proud to announce the addition of Nick Wright, a highly driven individual fueled by a desire to actively impact the world around him, to our Investments Team.  Nick will assist with the acquisition of new properties and asset management of the current portfolio.

Interned on the real estate and property development teams at La-Z-Boy, UDR, and Harris Teeter

What drew you to real estate? I have always been interested in the “built environment” around me and wanted the opportunity to impact a community’s needs directly. While at Virginia Tech, I joined the new and exciting Real Estate program, which amplified my passion for the field. I truly enjoyed learning how the various disciplines within real estate connected and interacted with one another. Real estate allows me to be creative and adaptive every day by working on multiple projects and deals.

What drew you to Blue Ocean? When I first connected with Ian Scullion to discuss the opportunity of working for Blue Ocean, I felt his excitement for his work. It was something that I wanted to be a part of. Blue Ocean’s diverse portfolio and innovative investments intrigued me. Further, the passionate and collaborative culture of Blue Ocean drew me in.

 What are you most excited about in your new role? I am eager to be challenged every day and grow my real estate knowledge. I look forward to participating actively in projects and being pleased that my contributions helped bring a deal across the finish line. I am also eager to learn as much as possible from my team.

Where do you hope to be in your future real estate career? I hope my future knowledge and expertise can provide new ideas and solutions to the real estate industry. I want to be a part of exciting, successful projects that make me proud daily.
