We are very honored to announce that Blue Ocean was recently awarded the “Making A Difference Award” from Maryland Multi-Housing Association (MMHA)! This award is presented to property management companies, properties, and associate members that are actively involved in philanthropic and community outreach efforts.

When Blue Ocean accepted this award during the delightful lunch and award presentation, Giovanni Medoro, MMHA Director of Marketing voiced, “We started the Making a Difference Award in May of last year to recognize property management companies that are heavily involved in philanthropic efforts. We wanted to show that giving back pays huge dividends not only in boosting employee morale and retention, but also in making a difference in people’s lives, while changing the perception of our industry. So, this award is our way of highlighting the many great things management companies are doing on a daily basis. When Blue Ocean sent us the list of all of the community partnership events they have participated in over the last year, it was a no brainer to give them the award.”

Our mission at Blue Ocean is to consistently seek new ways to give back to our local community and we are very proud to find creative ways to do so. A few of our many “giving back” days have included:

• Helping set up and hand out food and fresh produce to 100 families in need at Liberty Community Development Corporation’s Pantry Giveaway Day
• Packing non-perishable food items into individual packages for local schools with Baltimore Hunger Project
• Partnering with TurnAround, Inc. to support their work in empowering survivors of sexual exploitation and sexual violence/abuse within the Baltimore metro area
